Quality Technician


  • Responsible for the technical inspection of manufactured products.
  • Assist and conduct First Article Inspections, Capability and Statistical Studies, Gage R&R, PPAP, and APQP submissions requirements. 
  • Perform calibrations for all tools.
  • Interface with customers, vendors, and other departments and divisions.
  • Conduct data collection and reporting needs/requirements.
  • Assist in new tooling review and coordination. 
  • Assist in troubleshooting customer quality concerns and development of new part quality.
  • Compare parts with specified dimensions using appropriate measuring equipment. 
  • Perform floor, set-up, and final inspections. 
  • Set-up and maintain part records. 
  • Maintain “In Process Inspection Procedures”.
  • Assist with Quality technical questions.
  • Inspect parts with calipers, micrometers, microscopes, indicators, and height gauges, as indicated in the quality plan.
  • Check the flatness of the parts with a granite block.
  • Make judgement on the inspected part and give approval if part is acceptable.
  • Use PC and automation inspection equipment.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Comply with state and federal law safety regulations in addition to Oberg safety and security procedures. 
  • Adhere to company policies and state and federal laws and regulations relating to employment, including promoting a workplace free of discrimination and harassment.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to work in a standing, sitting, or bent position for 10 hours/day and must be able to lift a minimum of 25 pounds with control.  The employee must be able to raise arms above shoulders and maintain dexterity for extended periods of time and also use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls; reach with hands and arms; and be able to stoop or kneel for excessive periods of time.  The employee must be able to perform the physical demands of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.  The employee must be able to wear personal protective equipment. The employee must be able to travel between departments and divisions, and domestic and international travel may be occasionally required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently around large industrial machinery, and the employee constantly works near moving mechanical parts that create a moderately high noise level. The atmosphere is a combination of office and manufacturing setting.


  • Must have the ability and interpersonal skills to successfully work as a team member to obtain desired results.
  • Must be able to understand and apply work-related documents such as operating manuals, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Must be able to understand and perform to job-related quality standards, methods, usage of inspection devices and reporting as required.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or be able to comply with U.S. export regulations. 
  • Must possess knowledge of algebra, geometry and trigonometry.
  • Must be able to read and understand blueprints including geometric tolerances, and be able to comprehend specifications.
  • Must be able to locate, diagnose and correct problems in equipment and systems utilizing test equipment and/or prior work experience.
  • Must possess basic mechanical knowledge.
  • Must have a working knowledge of computer programs such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must be able to communicate through written, verbal, or other means of communication.
  • Under normal business conditions, must be able to work 50 hours per week, however, schedule will be adjusted according to business and operational needs.
  • Must be able to wear personal protection equipment, such as earplugs, safety glasses, safety shoes and gloves.


  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • ISO / TS experience strongly preferred.
  • Minimum 2 years quality or inspection experience required, 3 – 5 years preferred or minimum of 3 years press room experience preferred.
  • Previous hands-on experience in manufacturing required.
  • Statistical data analysis program experience a plus.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Power Point required.
