Under limited supervision, configure, install and maintain personal computer hardware and software by performing the following duties.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.
Configure, install and maintain Oberg approved personal computer hardware and software.
Assist end-users in the use of personal computers, Oberg approved software, Microsoft Office and Microsoft Outlook.
Provide secondary support to Windows network and server administration.
Conduct and/or recommend user specific training and other related knowledge transfer activities.
Assist in evaluation of PC software packages.
Provide support for systems and applications within the user community (this support may occur after normal working hours).
Prepares documentation for procedures and applications.
Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
Comply with state and federal law safety regulations in addition to Oberg safety and security procedures.
Adhere to company policies and state and federal laws and regulations relating to employment, including promoting a workplace free of discrimination and harassment.
Other related duties as assigned.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods of time, and occasionally travel between departments and divisions. The employee may also be required to travel to both domestically and internationally.
WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly have to travel through other departments and occasionally through production areas. The atmosphere is a climatic office setting, and the employee will spend the majority of his/her time sitting at a computer.
Must have the ability and interpersonal skills to successfully work as a team member to obtain desired results.
Must be able to understand and apply work-related documents such as operating manuals, maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
Must be able to understand and perform to job-related quality standards and methods.
Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
Must be a U.S. citizen or be able to comply with U.S. export regulations.
Must be able to communicate through written, verbal, or other means of communication.
Must be able to understand written correspondence.
Must be able to work 50 hours per week, however, schedule may be adjusted according to business and operational needs. Must be able to work outside of normal working hours, including evenings and weekends.
Must be able to organize work and prioritize tasks.
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft based PC’s, TCP/IP networking, printers, network cards, modems, monitors and other computer devices.
Must have a working knowledge of current mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.
Must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows applications and have the ability to install Oberg approved commercial software.
Must have the ability to diagnose and trouble shoot PC hardware and software until solution is found.
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE / EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:
Prefer minimum of Associates Degree in Computer or Information Science or related field with emphasis on hardware and software trouble shooting or equivalent experience required.
2 Year experience working experience in PC support area. Windows experience required.
Prefer knowledge of Windows servers.
