Communications Manager

SUMMARY:

Under limited supervision, plan, design, coordinate and implement the brand awareness and promotion activities of Oberg Industries at all customer interaction points through a variety of communication channels and coordinate these programs with Sales, Marketing and other departments by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following.

  • Design digital media campaigns aligned with business goals
  • Coordinate the creation of digital content (e.g. website, blogs, press releases and podcasts)
  • Manage and implement end-to-end digital projects
  • Manage and implement our web presence to boost brand awareness
  • Maintain online company voice through social media
  • Liaise with Marketing, Sales and Product development teams to ensure brand consistency
  • Suggest and implement marketing methods to increase profitability
  • Monitor ROI and KPIs
  • Stay up-to-date with digital media developments
  • Provide initial written content for all communications required
  • Provide assistance and coordination in the development of marketing and sales promotion plans and advertising programs.
  • Act as liaison with appropriate advertising agencies and firms as well as with the press and media services.
  • Recommend annual advertising and promotion budgets for all marketing and sales programs based input from Directors of Sales and then work within approved annual budget throughout the year.
  • Manage and implement the design, preparation and scheduling of all promotional materials, such as printed literature, advertisements, photography, videos, CD’s and sales presentations.
  • Provide direction on the type and placement of promotional materials to maximize response of the intended audience.
  • Design and coordinate all tradeshow activities.
  • Support internal Oberg functional areas to attract, retain, and communicate information with employees.
  • Maintain a clean and orderly work area.
  • Comply with state and federal law safety regulations in addition to Oberg safety and security procedures. 
  • Adhere to company policies and state and federal laws and regulations relating to employment, including promoting a workplace free of discrimination and harassment.
  • Other related duties as assigned.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit at a computer terminal for extended periods of time, visit customer facilities, including out-of-state and international travel, and occasionally travel within and through departments and divisions.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: While performing the duties of this job, the employee will regularly have to travel through the manufacturing departments.  The atmosphere is a climatic office setting, and the employee will spend a portion of his time in transit. The employee will occasionally be required to travel, including internationally.

QUALIFICATIONS:  

  • Experience with visual communication tools and practices
  • Familiarity with web design and content management systems
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing creative marketing/design solutions
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • An ability to multitask and perform under tight deadlines
  • Must have a working knowledge of computer programs such as Adobe suite and Windows applications.
  • Must have the ability and interpersonal skills to successfully work as a team member to obtain desired results.
  • Ability to learn and understand manufacturing and technology
  • Must be able to coordinate marketing, sales and manufacturing disciplines.
  • Must have the ability to develop business proposals and marketing strategies.
  • Excellent analytical and project management skills
  • Must be able to coach and mentor others to increase their skills and capabilities and obtain desirable results.
  • Must be able to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen or be able to comply with U.S. export regulations. 
  • Must be able to wear personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and shoes.

PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE / EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Minimum 5 years graphic design/marketing experience in a comparable industry.
  • Experience with integrating strategic goals and objectives with marketing strategies required.
  • Graphic design or marketing degree preferred.
  • Multiple years experience in a precision manufacturing industry preferred.
